Laurie went above and beyond to help me and my daughter in the NICU. Laurie was my daughter's nurse, but she also took great care of me as well. She was like a mom to me. Giving me helpful advice on taking care of my daughter's dietary needs, as well as her other care needs. Laurie also listened to me just talk, which was so nice because living in the step-down NICU unit is very lonely. I missed my husband and three-year-old daughter so much, but Laurie helped me not feel so lonely and made the time go by more quickly when she was my daughter's nurse.
Laurie was always there to cheer our success and always put a positive spin on things when it wasn't going so well. She took wonderful care of my daughter. Always on time for "care time", bottle ready to go just when needed, and gave advice while breastfeeding. Always asking me if there was anything I needed. Laurie was always patient, understanding, positive, and smiling! You can tell Laurie really enjoys her job it shows in everything she does. Laurie is an amazing nurse and caregiver. She is well deserving of this honor. My time in the NICU is drawing to a close soon and I am happy to go home, but I will really miss Laurie.
