Not only did Laurie spend the time talking with me to comfort and relax me, she remembered things like how I liked my coffee to the teams I enjoyed. She never hesitated to do small and big things for me either. The one thing I will never forget is the night of the NHL finals and Pittsburgh won. When Laurie came in the room I had mentioned that if I was home, I would have celebrated with a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. Laurie left the room and came back a bit later with a paper plate that said "yea! Penguins" and half a pb&j sandwich. She made me feel like I was home. That is when I told her that I considered her my friend.
