Lavasha took the time to make sure I was comfortable and all my needs were met. This morning tragedy struck when the Chaplin and a doctor woke me to tell me my brother had a massive heart attack at Aberdeen and passed away in the ER. I had them get Lavasha right away and she came and took me in her arms and held me tightly while I cried, she gave me such comfort with her words and her compassion. Nurses are all smart and knowledgeable about their job but it is a special person who can make a stranger feel like she is your best friend and there for you no matter what. Lavasha embodies the phrase "Angel of Mercy". Without her, I don't know how I could have gotten through today without ending up in the psych ward. I will never forget her. I will miss her very much when I am discharged. She also stayed after her shift ended, unpaid, to hunt down information about low-cost cremation for me even though I could see she was tired. When I told her she didn't have to do it she said, "yes I do or I will toss and turn all night and not be able to sleep".
