Laverne Glave, DNP
After working with her the past two years, I see first hand that Laverne Glave embodies all that the DAISY Award entails.
Dr. Glave cares for and manages her patients with care and grace in an easy to understand way that engages them to be part of a mutual team following our PACT model. Laverne works selflessly, always early to work and the last one out the door. She will assist patients and their families in any capacity to improve quality of life.
Perfect example of her commitment: We were at a veterans home on a late Friday afternoon, the patient was in a soiled bed, his wife was clearly stressed and overwhelmed. Dr. Glave jumped in, got clean linens, positioned the patient, changed the bed completely, and cleaned the veteran from head to toe. His wife was very grateful, yet Dr. Glave said, “How could I leave you like this.” It might not sound like a big deal, but to a caregiver with their own health and mobility issues, believe me, it was!
One of Dr. Glave’s amazing qualities is her compassion for Veterans, which shows in her inclusion of their support circle for optimum health outcomes.
Commitment to our Veterans and their caregivers, showing them respect, providing excellence with integrity, and always advocating for their needs. She cares.
Her ethical standards are to be admired, always willing to do extra, never looking for praise.
