As the manager of patient flow, Nia oversees Utilization Management nurses who screen flow of patients coming to the medical center… Nia creates an environment of psychological safety. She encourages us to be our best, and advocates for us to shine… She makes sure no one in her team is left behind… As a compassionate leader, she spent several hours with me off tour to make sure a patient is discharged safely thus prevented an unnecessary hospital stay. She never fails to appreciate us verbally… Due to Nia's inspiration, three of Nia's team members have received the DAISY Award. Nia created an atmosphere where her team has mutual respect for each other and competes as a whole team, not as an individual.
