Lea was amazing, compassionate, attentive, knowledgeable, friendly, extraordinary, extremely professional, patient, and listened to all of my needs.
I had pretty much had the worst month of my life. After being inpatient for 27 days, I made it home for two whole days before ending up back in the hospital again. I had a very bad experience at the other hospital and wasn’t expecting much from this one. Lea is an unexpected walking angel. She listens, like really listens! I felt not only seen but heard as well for the first time in a long time. She immediately advocated for me making a plan to get me feeling better within an hour of her becoming my nurse. She spoke to the physician on my behalf, and I was able to sleep for longer than an hour for the first time in days. She is also hilarious and makes me laugh so hard, in spite of my misery.

She is truly a gem. Much to my delight, I was able to have her as my nurse for consecutive days; she put me at ease and explained step-by-step what the plan was for my blood transfusion, as well as my allergies. She never made me feel like I was bothering her, but listened to everything I had to say with an open heart. I honestly don’t think I would have stayed long enough to receive care if not for her taking the time to get me tougher. I didn’t feel like just a number or a random patient; I knew she was truly invested in my outcome. I will never forget her and will always be grateful that she saved me in more ways than one. I was very depressed, being back in the hospital after battling sepsis and almost losing my life. She literally pulled me out of the darkness, set me back in the light and gave me hope again. Lea is the absolute best nurse, I’ve ever had, period!

Lea was amazing, compassionate, attentive, knowledgeable, friendly, extraordinary, extremely professional, patient, and listened to all of my needs. She shared our remission day and helped celebrate it. Thank you so very much for all that you helped us with. I am truly grateful God put you in our paths, and may He bless you. You are an angel here on earth; keep helping others!

As her leader, I have to add that she took it upon herself to buy the patient a great slushy from Sonic to celebrate his remission. She bought him a card as well, had all the nurses sign the card. She went above and beyond to celebrate him.
