Lea Curtis, RN

I was in the worst pain of my life today. I have serious endometriosis and I was in so much pain I couldn’t help but pass out and throw up and cry in agony. 

I came into the ER, and I’m actually in nursing school myself, so it felt a little weird to be the patient because I’m a tech at another hospital.

Within not even 20 minutes of being under Lea’s care, she had given me IV fentanyl and a couple of other medications and started my fluids. My pain went from a 10, the worst in my life, to a 1 (because I’m only at a zero when I’m on the beach with no worry in the world). 

She was so kind throughout the process. I was so scared of what was happening to me, and she just had the best vibes ever. I could tell she cared about me. She made me feel comfortable; she was so funny and nurturing throughout it all. 

She had a warm feeling about her, and I felt like she wasn’t there just to get her paycheck. I felt like she had a heart for me. I work with a variety of nurses, and I will never go anywhere else but Bailey because of the staff. 

Lea is a true gem, and she deserves this award. Nurses like her are why my dream is to become a nurse!
