Lea Kathol is an amazing instructor, mentor and leader. I have watched her stay after to assist students in any way that she can. She makes herself available by email, phone and text not only to students, but to new instructors such as myself when I just have "one" more question about something. Lea has a fountain of resources in her head that she shares without thought of the extra time we are asking of her. I want to thank Lea for always having her door open for me. She has time and time again encouraged me to become the best nurse I can be. I love having her as a faculty advisor and being able to talk to her about anything. Lea has exhibited qualities of success for her nursing profession by showing drive, determination, and the initiative to lead other faculty and students. She demonstrates her strengths through her communication skills, civility to other faculty, and ethics. She has the talent to summarize what she is teaching then to check for understanding and comprehension on any topic she educates. The students have so much respect for Lea. The students love hearing about the experiences Lea has had throughout her career. She keeps the students' interest and makes them excited for what a career in nursing could be for each of them.
