We are so grateful for Sanford Health. J (my husband) was a patient at Sanford Medical Center Fargo. He arrived to the Emergency Department with chest pain. He was professionally and expeditiously assessed in this department and moved to the cardiac cath lab for a stent placement. Two days later he was a patient in surgery for triple bypass surgery. From the moment J was admitted and discharged from Sanford Health he had exceptional care from everyone encountered.

There is one Registered Nurse by the name of Lea Steinke who set herself apart from others, thus creating an exceptional patient and family experience. Lea is a warm, kind professional, and energetic RN who made a special effort to make sure J was comfortable. She paid attention to very important details which were safety-related. For example, she reminded him about the importance of foaming in and out and hygiene explaining that this is the best way to decrease infection. Lea made it a priority to pop her head in J's room frequently to check on him, which made J feel like she was his only patient. She would check to make sure he was doing OK and asked if J or I needed anything.

Her passion for nursing and taking care of others was so obvious, which makes her such an outstanding nurse. It was also noticed that she was always professional in the way she carried herself. J loved getting her thumbs up and that smile when she left the room. Made J feel everything was going well and that his recovery was progressing as it should. Lea is a positive employee and a source of inspiration for others. Sandford Medical Center Fargo hospital is blessed to have such a valued employee. Lea, we love you!!
