Leah Cowan, RN

I came in with a placenta detachment, and I lost my baby boy. When Leah came on shift in the am I was in shambles, sad, angry and all around an emotional roller coaster. Leah came in and immediately approached me and was almost in tears and asked if she could hug me and proceeded to sympathize with me. She was willing to do whatever she needed, to try and give me some kind of comfort, and she did just that. She made the worst day of my life... better, and I didn't think that was possible. I asked so many questions, and anything I needed, she was right there to make sure I was okay and explained everything to me so that I understood. She provided the comfort and care that I really needed in that difficult time. Without her, I don't think I would have the strength to carry on. She went above and beyond what she needed to do when I was not very nice or easy to be around. She showed a type of compassion I don't think I've ever experienced before.
