Leah Daniels went above and beyond any nurse we've ever had! My mother was in room six in the ICU and was in her final days. My father was having a hard time letting go, even when my family and the doctors had agreed that for her quality of life and future, we needed to say goodbye. It's never an easy decision. Leah started her shift that morning, attending to my mom. She then sat down, right next to my dad, and asked him how he was feeling and how she could help him. She sat and listened to him tell the story of my mom's and his love of 61 years. She had tears in her eyes before he was done. She explained everything about the comfort care process to him and helped him understand what he needed to do next. She was so thoughtful and caring. She got fresh cookies and coffee for him and me, got my mom all prepared for her final journey in a most caring and professional way. Her care and concern made a huge impact on him. He talked about her all the way home and with the rest of the family. We were both so impressed. In my dad's words, "That nurse was such a sweet gal, and took real good care of momma".
