I am an ICU RN and have been a nurse for the last 17 years. I am generally on the other side the bed driving the patient care. This is the longest hospital stay I've ever been as an inpatient and believe me, the perspective is quite different when the caregiver becomes the care receiver. I had struggled with this position most weeks.
But Leah is exceptional! Her compassion and patience only excelled her further into the area of excellence. Never once did I feel rushed or that I did not have her full attention when attending to my needs.
