She said she was the one who was talking to me to keep me calm before I went into shock. At this time, I realized that Nurse Leah was my Angel.
In August I was hit by a distracted driver. The driver was going 70mph and blew a red light. I was near death and only have a few vivid memories from that day. One thing about that day that always stands out.... is a person who was telling me that help was on the way. I never knew who that person was that was trying to keep me calm while the fire dept and ambulances were on their way. I had to be cut out of my car (jaws of life). I still dream of that person and always wonder who that Angel was. I was taken to Christ Hospital and admitted to STIC. I underwent several surgeries and received absolutely WONDERFUL care. I will forever be grateful to the wonderful doctors, nurses, PTs, and OTs.

I am still being treated for my injuries and was recently in the pain clinic back in August 2021. My nurse was Leah Lusk and she was prepping me for my procedure. Nurse Leah asked me what had brought me to the pain clinic- so I started telling Leah about my accident... only to find out that Nurse Leah was at my accident--- she was on her way to work, saw the accident, and pulled over to help me. She said she was the one who was talking to me to keep me calm before I went into shock. At this time, I realized that Nurse Leah was my Angel. I cannot think of any other incident that proves just how extraordinary and caring a nurse can be to jump in and help me. Nurse Leah really went above and beyond for her normal call of duty. Thank you.
