July 2025 Honoree
Leah Meyers, BSN, RN
Leah was my incredible nurse who was taking care of me right in the middle of my 6-day stay at Abington. I was just so miserable with an NG tube in my nose, nauseated, throwing up, just really miserable. Leah was there when I needed her the most - without me pressing the call button, Leah knew that I was not in a good way, both mentally and physically. She came in several times during each of her shifts to check on me, just stopped to chat for a few minutes about anything, just to get my mind off of feeling really down and bad physically. I asked her for Peppermint oil after another person introduced me to it - she came in several times during her shifts to freshen the air with it. Leah was very calming - I believe she instinctively knew I was down and out - and she knew what to say, talk to me about, to help me get out of the mood/place I was at. We even talked about Disney - how my family is a very big Disney family. She took me to my happy place - it was just natural for her - showed how caring and compassionate she is about her job and caring for me and her other patients. I believe she deserves special recognition for the way she treated me, because I know that she does the same for all of her other patients. Please grant her this piece of recognition to help make her day! Thank you, Leah!
Thank you, Leah, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
