In January 2011 my husband was struggling with the end stages of brain cancer. The once strong, independent man who lived to golf could barely walk 10 feet with help.

Leah and I spoke by phone while my husband was still in the hospital. Together we strategized about the many home needs and what resources were needed to best meet those needs. Much of ‘what’ we discussed is a blur, but what Leah offered us is crystal clear:

Open communication- determining our needs & meeting them.
Skill & expertise- she knew what was available & where to get it.
Patience- allowing us the time we needed to ‘ease into’ hospice care.
Gentleness- in the way she spoke with and physically cared for my husband.
Love- offering, accepting & hugs.

Leah, your hugs helped soothe my hurts. Your openness allowed me to say things nobody else could hear.

Thank you, Leah, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
