She was honest with me, kept me informed, and treated me with respect and dignity during a scary time, she was compassionate, caring, and professional.
I honestly cannot thank Leah enough or put into words how grateful I am for the compassion, care, and understanding she showed me during my time on the labour ward. Upon her arrival - when I was in very much pain, Leah reassured me, listened to me, and supported me, without her I honestly don’t know how I would have coped. Leah kept me informed through every step and was professional yet a friend-like figure!
During my birth process, Leah tried her hardest to motivate me, giving me strength, support, and motivation when mine was running out; she did all she could to give me the birth she wanted. Unfortunately, after birthing my beautiful baby boy things took a turn for the worse with me and when surrounded by a number of unfamiliar doctors Leah pushed herself through to be by my side to be the familiar face I knew, giving me comfort and support, putting me at ease during one of the scariest times I’ve ever been through! She was honest with me, kept me informed, and treated me with respect and dignity during a scary time, she was compassionate, caring, and professional. If it wasn’t for her, I honestly don’t think things would have gone as well as they did, and I cannot thank her enough for that nor would she know how much those moments helped me.
During the night Leah checked on me and offered support and advice, I remember talking to her about how would I know what to do and be a mum, in which she sat with me and offered me support and encouragement. She treated me more than just as a patient but as a friend. I honestly again cannot thank her for all she did for me and my precious boy, and believe she deserves this award and more, she really did go above and beyond. Thank you.
