LeAnn makes sure all her patients are taken care of and it shows in how happy the patients are when they see her every day.
LeAnn, without a doubt, goes the extra mile for any of the patients and staff. She does her job, plus helps out in any way she possibly can. We have had a lot of changes recently and LeAnn has never hesitated to step up and help even when it was not her job duty. If it has to do with a patient or helping staff, she does it without hesitation. She is such a big part of our team in radiation!
Situations happen all the time. But to be specific, a patient came in for treatment the other day and you could tell they were not feeling well. Instead of letting the OK from the patient be enough, LeAnn got up from the nurses' station and walked to the dressing room with the patient, talking to them and just checking on them the whole way. Finally, the patient opened up and told her she had a rough weekend and wasn’t feeling good. The patients can often get dehydrated and weak from treatment. LeAnn could tell all of this because she paid attention to the patient and didn’t just let it go. LeAnn made sure the patient got fluids the next two days and the patient was 100% better after.
LeAnn makes sure all her patients are taken care of and it shows in how happy the patients are when they see her every day. She cares for and loves the patients and staff like a true follower of Jesus Christ.

I just love everyone who has provided me with care and treatment. Every time I am there this nurse has a smile and kind words to share. There has not been a day I have come in for care and she has not been so caring – always speaking, always smiling, always taking great care of me. It has been great to receive their care. I have had surgery and other treatment at other facilities, but it is night and day different at CHRISTUS. You act like and demonstrate that you care. Thank you to this nurse and this team!

LeAnn is the only Radiation nurse in her department. She works well with all the therapists, front desk, physicians, and NPs to get the patients in quickly for consults and treatment. Prior to even being seen LeAnn does the majority of the pre-work prior to a patient even being seen in the department and her efficiency and attention to detail do not go unnoticed. She provides the education the patients need prior to and during radiation treatment to minimize any side effects. She always does this with a smile and compassion for each patient she encounters. She greets each patient by name as they return daily for treatment and always asks "how are you doing" as they walk past her desk. EVERY PATIENT EVERY TIME!
