Leann cared for an oncology patient who was admitted to the hospital; the patient and her husband were very concerned about the care of their dog while in the hospital. They had no family to help with their beloved pet. Leann did not hesitate - she offered to care for the dog, Abby, and took the dog to her home so they would not have to worry. She kept the pet until the patient was discharged 3 days later. She allowed the pet to stay in her house as this sweet couple did, even while she was at work. Leann truly made a connection with the patient and her husband and their four-legged baby! She showed love and compassion and went above and beyond. The family is forever grateful and will never forget this extraordinary nurse!
