I nominate Leann Kuhlemeyer, RN, as a deserving recipient of the Daisy Award.

This nurse exemplifies the kind of nurse that patients and families, as well as nurses, physicians and other members of the health care team, recognizes as an outstanding role model.

I would like to nominate Leann Kuhlemeyer for the Daisy Award. I assist Leann with both the Breast Cancer Support Group and the Cancer Support Group. Leann is so compassionate with the patients who attend the groups and with their family members. You can see Leann's compassion in her eyes and hear it in the way she talks to the members of the group. Leann puts everyone at ease and makes them feel that they are in a safe and confidential environment. It is a tremendously difficult job to be the lead coordinator of such groups. Leann must be sensitive to everyone's feelings. When there is a member of the group who is terminal, Leann must be able to determine how they are accepting their diagnosis. Working with cancer patients is very rewarding, but it is also emotionally draining. Leann gives her heart to her patients.
