I knew I was in good hands the minute I saw Leanna Fallis. I was impressed by her neat, professional appearance, pleasant smile, and calm manner. She spoke clearly, slowly, and was never patronizing to me. Leanna also impressed me with her thorough knowledge of my condition. She informed my daughter and me about test results, doctor's notes, and the plan of care.
Two specific moments stand out among the kind, competent care I received from Leanna. I had returned to my room from a test in Radiology and discovered that one of my hearing aids was missing. Leanna called Radiology and searched my room, to no avail. Later, when she was helping me adjust my position in bed, she found my hearing aid behind my back. I think she was happier than I was!
Leanna cared for me for several days in a row and we developed a bond. One day her assignment did not include me. However, Leanna came in to visit me several times. I felt comfortable telling her my problems or any concerns. Leanna advocated for me, despite the fact that she wasn't my nurse. She provided the other staff, techs, and doctors with what she had learned about me.
I truly felt like I had a guardian angel when Leanna was anywhere on the unit! She is a true DAISY Nurse.
