Leanna is patient, sweet, full of knowledge, and, most of all, very caring. This is my only way to scream from the rooftops about the excellent, organized, and quality of care Leanna displayed to us!
Our son had jaw surgery a few weeks ago. It was a scary and stressful time for us as parents. After surgery, we were brought down to our room, where we met our nurse, Leanna. She quickly took over the reins and brought our stress level from 10 down to 1. She was organized like a good teacher. She had everything set up on the table to start his healing process. Leanna spent a very long time in our room discussing how she was going to help him heal so he could go home. She already ordered his Ensure and Powerade, and showed him how to suction his mouth-which really made a huge difference to him. She also showed him how he could text us since he could not speak and showed us so many more tricks and tools to help him be successful enough to go home on time. When my son slowed down on his eating, she suggested we go to the cafeteria and have them make him a shake with Ensure and vanilla ice cream, and she said, "I heard it tastes like a birthday cake." She was right. I went and got that one, and my son drank it right away, which helped him get discharged. Leanna is patient, sweet, full of knowledge, and, most of all, very caring. This is my only way to scream from the rooftops about the excellent, organized, and quality of care Leanna displayed to us! You are lucky to have her on the PSCU unit, and we were very blessed to have her as our nurse! Thank you, Leanna, because of your care, my son is on his way to a full recovery.

Note: This is Leanna's 2nd DAISY Award!
