April 2019 Honoree
leanne dutton, RN
From the moment, I walked onto the ward Leanne was very welcoming. She took the time to chat with me and explain what was happening with my daughter. After the surgery when I was worried, she stayed by my side and didn't leave. When I said to her something was wrong, Leanne reacted so quick and kept her cool. She hit the alarm and got the crash team round; my daughter has stopped breathing, the fear hit me I couldn't do anything but cry. Leanne stayed until the team was there; she did everything to keep her breathing. After she took me into the office and got me to calm down.
Luckily after 24 hours and a few scans, my daughter was perfectly fine. She was breathing on her own again and we were allowed back on the ward. To me that day Leanne saved her life; I owe her everything. Even still after two months, Leanne will come and have a chat and a cuddle. I trust her and feel safe knowing she cares for my daughter. I could not ask for a better, more caring nurse.

Thank you, Leanne, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
