Leddi has risen to the occasion, demonstrating natural leadership abilities—leading by example, with positivity, and enthusiasm.
While some nurses endure more difficulties than others, everyone shares the burden that healthcare now faces. Maintaining positivity and working as a team is more important than ever, therefore increasing the need for outstanding bedside nursing leaders. This DAISY Nurse is one of those nursing leaders, and her leadership and positivity during the most stressful of times is the primary reason for the well-deserved DAISY Award nomination.
Leddi has been an outstanding nurse in the CCU for years. The quality of patient care and her knowledge is second-to-none. She has the ability to care for the most acutely ill patients in the hospital, including critical COVID patients.
Recently, Leddi was selected by her peers to join the leadership team as a charge nurse. Her transition could not have come at a more difficult time, given staffing challenges, heightened acuity, and the pandemic, but she has exceeded all expectations. She has risen to the occasion, demonstrating natural leadership abilities—leading by example, with positivity, and enthusiasm.
Her bedside experience in CCU gives her great insight into the challenges the frontline staff is facing during these unprecedented times. She has earned the trust of her fellow nurses and they chose to have her lead them through the daily chaos and challenges. Leddi Grall is a shining example of how strong nurses rise to the occasion during the COVID pandemic.
