On January 12, 2023, Eskenazi Health presented Lee Ann Blue with the DAISY Lifetime Achievement Award. Lee Ann had served as the Executive VP for Patient Care Services and Chief Nursing Officer at Eskenazi Health for 16 years until her retirement in early January 2023. Central to Lee Ann’s incredible and rich nursing career has been her dedication and commitment to nursing excellence. Her servant and transformational leadership have impacted many nursing leaders and supported them to achieve goals and exceed expectations. Under Lee Ann’s leadership, Eskenazi Health has realized increased patient volumes and opportunities and access to patient care. It is only fitting to honor Lee Ann with the DAISY Lifetime Achievement Award as was a champion for this program’s implementation in 2015 and has participated in almost all of the 92 celebrations to date. Outside of Eskenazi Health, Lee Ann has taught for the Indiana University School of Nursing Master’s program as well as serving as a preceptor for master student’s leadership practicum experience. Additionally, Lee Ann is active with the Indianapolis Coalition for Patient Safety, Indiana Hospital Association, and the Indiana Center for Nursing. We wish Lee Ann the best in her next endeavor as the Chief Nurse Emeritus for Eskenazi Health.
