There was a patient on 2 East who had tested positive for the Coronavirus. On this day, Lee was informed by the RN caregiver that the patient's daughter had traveled from Columbus and was in our parking lot hoping to visit. Because Lee had already established a rapport with the patient's family from prior interactions, he did not hesitate to offer his assistance to the nurse. I witnessed Lee spend extra time from his day listening to the family's need to say farewell to their loved one, even though death was not imminent at this time. His great compassion allowed this patient's daughter to be able to have a final interaction with their loved one. In these difficult and challenging times of the pandemic, Lee's kindness and compassion will always be remembered by this family. I am proud to work with such an outstanding colleague.
