May 2022 Honoree
Leigh Ann Graham, BSN, CMSRN
You will frequently find Leigh Ann advocating and collaborating with other Nurse Leaders to echo the voices of bedside nurses and provide input on hospital initiatives. Her leadership of the Acute Care Coordinating Council provides a safe and professional environment for bedside nurses to find solutions and best practices for their work environment. As co-chair of the Patient Care Council, she has been able to form relationships across CMC to integrate Magnet standards and communicate those to nurses at the unit level. She has been a mentor, preceptor, and expert to countless nurses over her 20-year career. She frequently dedicates her own time and resources to ensure bedside nurses feel appreciated. Year after year, she is a key contributor and executor of Nurse’s Week Activities. She tirelessly finds donations from the community and organizes delivery to nurses on the units. Most admirable about Leigh Ann is her dedication and leadership of the DAISY Award Program. She mentors other DAISY leads to standardize and increase nurse recognition in their areas. She is the liaison between the DAISY office and the organization. She ensures that all nurses nominated for a DAISY receive the powerful statements written by our patients. Today we want to say thank you to Leigh Ann, for her contributions to the organization and nursing profession.
Thank you, Leigh Ann, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
