Leigh Ann Hawkins, RN

Leigh Ann was my father’s nurse. She was beyond kind and helpful. Every time she came in, she explained what she was doing. She let us know that we could order some different items for my father’s meals (he is rather picky). She ordered him a grilled cheese sandwich and tomato soup which he thoroughly enjoyed. When his television was not working, she went and got a ladder to unplug and reset the TV- that is going above and beyond the call of duty. She told me the name of each medication she was giving and what it treated. Each time she checked in; she was sure to say when she would return. I have never met a kinder person.

In the situation our world is in with covid, our healthcare workers are so overworked and pushed to their maximum. This would definitely give them reason to be short tempered and easily frustrated. Leigh Ann always had a smile on her face and positive energy to match. She made my family feel like her family. Any profession would be lucky to have her, but I am so happy she chose this profession and this hospital. I consider myself blessed to have met Leigh Ann and my prayer is she blesses another family as she has mine.
