Leigh Ann Herman, who has been a nurse at HMH since 2011 working on the medical unit, was nominated for the award by two of her co-workers who stated that she "demonstrates compassion and caring to all of her patients as well as peers, and has been an exceptional mentor to nurses entering the profession."
Her nominators went on to say, "While it is a normal part of Leigh Ann's day to make positive changes in a patient's life, big or small, she deserves the DAISY award for being the excellent nurse that we all should strive to be."
