Dr. McInnis is a role model teacher, instructor, and human being. She always places students first in her priorities and inspires and motivates each time.
Dr. McInnis has been a nurse educator for 25 years, of these, 18 have been at Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU). She is the Program Coordinator for the Family Nurse Practitioner Program. Along with her coordinator role, she teaches Family Healthcare Diagnosis and Management I and II and Family Healthcare Diagnosis and Management Intensive.
As her nominator wrote, “Dr. McInnis is a role model teacher, instructor, and human being. She always places students first in her priorities and inspires and motivates each time. She provides very constructive criticism to the learners. I have always enjoyed her feedback and am very intrigued to find how much time she spends reading lengthy posts, emails, papers, and other assignments. . . . I strongly believe she is very fair in her feedback and unbiased. She has demonstrated her professionalism in each and every aspect of the teaching-learning environment. . . . She has shown her excellent interpersonal skills in each and every course she has taught. I have thoroughly enjoyed her classes. I always look up to her and aspire to be like her when I have my license and practicing privileges. The world needs more people like Dr. McInnis who devote their lives towards the professional development of their students.”
