Leigh did an amazing job taking care of a patient who required a study that we do not routinely perform on our unit. When the doctor was asked if she would be able to make the test happen on that shift she consulted the charge nurse, lab, endocrine charge nurse, and the family as well as researched the study and looked up policies and procedures relating to the study. Leigh put the needs of her patient above her own anxiety about performing an unfamiliar study and provided outstanding care to the patient. It is because of Leigh's attention to detail that she was able to quickly put all of the pieces in place to provide the care needed for the patient. People associate high standards and a high level of care when they think of CHOP, Leigh is exactly that nurse!
