Leila McQuillan started out as my primary nurse: changes were made but she checked in on me. Found my distress, jumped in to address concerns; compassionate, her actions made me feel safe something all patients want when they lose control of their lives and put others in charge of their care. Touched patient, looked head to toe, but made eye contact. Readily available, emerging leader.
