My physically-active husband entered the ER with chest pains. Upon arrival, we were quickly assessed and ushered into a room. My anxiety and frustration were very high, as my husband who is active military is not normally complaining of pain. Not being familiar with the ER or of my husband's condition, I was a nervous wreck. Enter Nurse Leisa. She was calming and professional, asking all her questions, all the while her hands were connecting wires. Nurse Leisa did her assessment, she left the room, only to return moments later with some water and a warm blanket. The blanket for my husband, the water for me. She placed her hand on my shoulder and consoled me, reassuring me that we were in good hands. Not only did Nurse Leisa do her job in taking good care of my husband, but she also took the care of his worried wife. Nurse Leisa went above and beyond by taking care of not only the sick patient but of the one that will ultimately be taking care of the patient after discharge. So, from a mother of 3, a Navy wife, a worried loved one, I thank you. Thank you Nurse Leisa!
