Lena has been amazing. This is the first time we have ever had my dad in the hospital, and we have not had to wonder what is next, what the results are, or anything. She kept us very well informed. She is so sweet, knowledgeable, and goes above and beyond. You are blessed to have her, and we have been blessed to be taken care of by her.

I trust her when my dad is in her care. My dad has been having breathing issues for many months, with no apparent reason as to why. He has been slowly deteriorating and finally ended up in the ER. Once we were transported to the intermediate care unit and settled, we were able to relax. The next morning, Lena was my dad’s nurse, our nurse. She tended to all his needs. I am a nurse and have been in management for most of my career, and she is, in my opinion, exactly how a nurse should be and how a nurse should do her job.

This is the type of care we should all exemplify. She didn’t bring us a gift or anything “special” like that, but she was steadfast in her care every step of the way the entire shifts she worked with us. She sought out information for us without being asked, updated us before we could even think of asking for an update, and maintained her professionalism mixed with loving compassion.

She is being recognized for “just doing her job” because she does it amazingly well. We felt like she didn’t have any other patients to care for except for us.
