Lenka has a long career with Emanuel and Good Samaritan Hospitals (before we became one system!) as an Oncology nurse. Her efficiency and compassionate caring for patients were well known among staff and family members.
Almost 20 years ago, Lenka left the oncology unit at Good Sam and joined the Breast Health Center team, located at Good Samaritan. When the program expanded to the Meridian Park campus, she became the Breast Health Center RN there, and remains there today! It would be impossible to count the number of lives Lenka has impacted as an RN. She cares for patients who have just been advised they need a breast biopsy and are frequently very anxious. She supports them by listening to their concerns and guides them through the scheduling process, easing a lot of their worries by providing them with information. She is also present with the patients during the breast biopsies. She engages them with conversation and humor, making a difficult situation much easier. She is an unbelievable asset to the nursing profession. Lenka is a true DAISY Nurse.
