Lenny Chiang-Hanisko, PhD, RN, FTNSS
Dr. Lenny Chiang-Hanisko has been a mentor and a colleague. I have had the good fortune of being one of her former students and have also had the opportunity to witness her caring for other students. Here I describe one nursing situation that exemplifies how she lives her caring day to day.
I registered for a conference for which Lenny had also registered. In her concern, and understanding I had limited funds to attend conferences, she offered to share rooms with me for the conference. On that occasion we were roommates but she did not require me to split the cost of the room. Because of her act of kindness, I was able to remain within my allotted travel allowance. It is not something I asked for and I will always remember her compassion towards me.
She also provided moral support as I presented my scholarly work. Lenny is very confident and competent and is a very humble individual.
