Leo Villavicencio, RN – The Troy Daisy Award for Extraordinary Nurses – October 2009 – Troy Beaumont Hospital
Leo is a true team player. He is always helping his coworkers without being asked. He is extremely conscientious. He is very thorough when he gives care to his patients. Leo is relied on a lot to help turn and reposition heavy patients, and he has never complained.
A letter received from an ICU patient states that the night he was admitted Leo was his first nurse. He got him all his CAPD stuff needed to drain his fluid and refill within minutes. Leo was his night nurse the whole stay and he knew that he was in good hands. He was the best!
Another patient commented that Leo was a great help to her whole family. He always took the patient’s phone calls late at night or early in the morning. He was always concerned with the patient’s pain level, medications, etc. Leo is really an awesome nurse.
