My husband was operated on for a brain tumor at Legacy Emanuel Hospital. I called Leora for her invaluable advice on what I, as a wife, could do to prepare for his surgery and, following care and therapy that I could possibly do, to know whom to call. The innumerable calls that she made to prepare him for needed special RIO therapy at Legacy Good Sam, but also plan additional neuro-oncology treatment, and to make sure that a consult for his community care was in place many weeks in advance so that I did not have to make many multitudes of calls when I was trying to stay by his side in the hospitals for moral support while having to drive 80 or more miles to do so and while trying to keep our ranch intact. She was also there for me emotionally during this horrific experience.

I would not have known what to do, who I should be talking to, or the many phone numbers that I would need to accomplish this gigantic task. She was there for me in every way possible, even as if I were a friend of hers, to calm me emotionally. She is now and was a Godsend for my sick husband and me. Her knowledge of the VA system and its workings saved us many times, thinking of future care that we were not even aware that the Veterans Administration had in place for our valued Veterans. She is a very competent, valuable, caring, experienced nurse care manager at our West Linn Outpatient Clinic. Leora should be commended and given recognition for the tireless, loving, compassionate, and skillful care that she has provided for my husband and me in every possible way. It was a special pleasure to be able to meet with and speak to her in person during my husband's appointment. She was able to get us in earlier than scheduled, which will save my husband and me a lot of unnecessary therapy and appointments that Dr. N’s expert and knowledgeable diagnosis has and will save us in the upcoming healing and recovery process.
