Lesley Slade, RN
Lesley demonstrates compassion every day she works. I believe she also demonstrates commitment to her patients by what she does and how she does it. Lesley is a thoughtful individual who remains calm even, in a crisis situation, and always remains professional.
Lesley was the Charge Nurse at a facility that was about to be closed. When approached with this news and presented with the plan to transfer her and those patients to a different facility, Lesley not only agreed but brought positivity to both teams and most importantly, the patients and their families. The transition was difficult, but Lesley took the time to talk with each patient and their families and listened.
She demonstrated the WECARE Behaviors at a time when everything changed. Lesley made such an impact on her patient’s lives and well-being. Family members ask for her when they are worried or have questions. Lesley continues to shine a light in our patient’s lives. She leads with a quiet, calm, and steady presence.
