Leslie Blackburn, LPN

On many occasions Leslie went out of her way to humanize her interactions with me in a situation that can very dehumanizing. She would have conversations with me and ask about my children like she was chatting with a friend. For someone that spent months in hospitals, this was vital to my mental health. She made it feel like I wasn't just a patient on the board or in a chart. I was an actual human being which can be lost in the course of treating a person, especially the more personal things that nurses have to do. Leslie is more than to deserving to receive the recognition of the Daisy Award.
