I was admitted to Riverside Hospital for an emergency appendectomy. During the next several days I was seen by many healthcare workers from lab techs to imaging techs to nurses and doctors. Dr. C and his team did an outstanding job of getting me through what I was told was a complicated surgery. So many people were an important part of my care and I would like to acknowledge a few who really stood out.

My real hero was Leslie, who I had the joy of being my nurse for a full 12 hours. I cannot say enough about the care she provided. I saw how hard she worked the entire shift, moving between four different patient rooms. But never did I feel forgotten or less important. She provided me with such extraordinary care while showing real compassion. Never would I have realized there was a pandemic going on in the world. I was made to feel important, well cared for, and my every need met. Thank you, Leslie, for the outstanding care and compassion, and for setting the bar high on what a nurse should be. You were simply amazing!
