We had a conference that the family wanted Leslie Graydon to attend because she was the first face they saw entering the CCU and Leslie was there when the patient died. They spent one hour speaking about how special and personal Leslie was including: praying with the family as mother passed, always making sure the family (and there were about 20 family members over 6 days) had warm blankets, water, hugs, showers, explanations about everything. They brought her flowers and a card and they cried together during the meeting in honor of the patient. Leslie described the "privilege and honor" that she experienced meeting this family and supporting the patient during this most emotional and critical time. The family asked that we make sure she is recognized for the exceptional nurse, caring and the soulful person she is!
