January 2012 Honoree
leslie hill, RN, ONS
Leslie Hill, RN, ONS was nominated for the DAISY Award by a former patient and a co-worker who was seen in the Emergency Department for being compassionate and calming effect.
Leslie is known at Bridgton Hospital for her caring way. I was so lucky to have her as a Nurse in our ED the day I had my stroke. She was so calming, gentle and passionate about my care.
I was scared as my blood pressure was very, very high and the result was right arm and leg paralysis (only temporary). She stayed right by my side talking to me and doing all her skilled care with a gentle touch and voice to reassure me to remain calm, in a beautiful place, as scared as I was inside.
She was able to make me feel calm .
