Leslie touched my heart while caring for my mother in ICU on the 5th floor. My mom had a stroke. While being treated for the stroke, she was also being treated for withdrawals from not having her anxiety medication and not having her wine. She also had a UTI which caused things to get pretty bad.
Leslie knew my mom needed someone with her at all times, so she allowed us to stay with our mom one at a time. Leslie was empathetic, she was sincere, she was compassionate, super comforting, and understanding. She didn't treat my mom badly because of the withdrawals. My mom has a story just like everyone else. Leslie didn't judge my mom or treat her differently because she was withdrawing from medicine and alcohol. Leslie truly loved her. She felt mom's pain, and she loved her through it.
Leslie not only comforted my mom but comforted my family as well. She was a wealth of knowledge, compassion, and love. When others judged without realizing they were judging, Leslie acted. She showed her love and her love for her job and people. I appreciate her!
