We never saw 90% of the work she had done for his human body, but we know in our hearts she fought tooth and nail for the greatest husband, dad, papaw, great grand papaw without even knowing him before this.
Valentines Day, 2021 will now forever be the worst day in our family's lives. Leslie had takencare of our beloved for when we could not be there with him. She worked tirelessly on him,for him. After we had gotten the call that his time was near, it just so happened to be shiftchange. Leslie gave us our space and met every one of our requests.
Our family is no stranger todeath, but this death will forever leave our hearts broken. To be on the other side ofwithdrawing care is a place we never want to be again. From what we have seen in ourworkplaces in situations such as this one, I have never seen someone so loved. We wereable to see him, be with him, love him, pet him and talk to him. We were not afraid tolook at his toes, hold his hand, kiss his cheek, lift his blanket to just look at his skin. Hislively skin.
We had noticed a disposable stethoscope and saw another opportunity. We all gota chance to listen to his heartbeat. His live heartbeat. Leslie had fulfilled every one of ourwishes and printed us out many, many EKG strips of his live heartbeat and packaged them upvery nicely for us. She went above and beyond taking care of our most important person. Wenever saw 90% of the work she had done for his human body, but we know in our hearts shefought tooth and nail for the greatest husband, dad, papaw, great grand papaw without evenknowing him before this.
