Leslie took exceptional care of my mother. She was so loving and caring - when she learned of my mom's love of music she asked her what her favorite kind of music was. Leslie sang to my mom so beautifully, it brought my entire family to tears.
That moment of beauty came at a very dark time. We found out my mom had cancer and that song was such a gift in a very sad time. Not only did Leslie provide exceptional nursing care, she gave herself in a very personal way. It was a moment that we will never forget. She came back later in the evening and sang again, such a precious gift in our darkest hour. My parents talked about her kindness for days.
We lost our mom eight days later at home in hospice. I called Leslie to tell her we would be honored if she would sing at our mom's service. She was kind enough to rearrange her schedule so she could be there on a very tough day. Her caring compassion will never be forgotten. She wasn't just our mom's nurse, she touched her heart and the hearts of our entire family. Her kindness to my mom and our family will never be forgotten. Leslie is very deserving of this special award.
