She never once wavered in her medical care for me and was very honest and upfront about what needed to take priority over my desire to get discharged.
Leticia Polanco saw me as a mother desperate to get home to my young child after a very traumatic pregnancy loss, and she treated me with great care and compassion. She never once wavered in her medical care for me and was very honest and upfront about what needed to take priority over my desire to get discharged. All the while, she advocated for me with the doctors and explained all of the things that needed to take place to ensure I could be safely discharged. I had a setback and wasn’t given information from the doctors. This nominee quietly and resolutely got the information to explain to me what was going on and helped calm some of my nerves/emotions about the setback. I felt she really had my best interest at heart and was committed to treating me as a patient and a person. I am so grateful for her expert care and her compassion. The healthcare system would be a much better place for patients if there were more nurses like her.
