I was recently admitted to the very unit where I work – a situation that was both scary and vulnerable. From the moment Nurse Lexy walked into my room, everything changed. She immediately made me feel comfortable, safe, and seen – not just as a patient, but as a person.
Lexy provided exceptional clinical care, but what stood out the most was the compassion, respect, and dignity with which she treated me! She explained everything clearly, anticipated my needs, and never made me feel like just another patient. Her kindness and professionalism turned an overwhelming experience into one I could manage with peace and trust.
Lexy truly embodies Advocate Health’s values of empathy, excellence, and integrity. I am proud to work alongside her and even more grateful to have been cared for by her during a time when I needed it most. She is the kind of nurse who reminds us why we do what we do, and I can’t think of anyone more deserving of the DAISY Award.
