Lexy Gatewood, BSN, RN
Lexy was extremely attentive and caring during the hours I was in her care. She was frequently checking on me to make sure I was not having any pain or discomfort. Lexy also demonstrated professionalism, compassion, and amazing bedside manner, which is what prompted me to submit a DAISY Award nomination for her.

My son came into the ER not feeling the best. Lexy was the first face we saw that was warm and welcoming. She immediately took charge and introduced herself and the procedures that she would be doing with my son.
She was extremely gentle and kind; my son was shaking and crying because he was so scared. She calmed his nerves and talked to him in a soft voice, reassuring him that everything would be ok. She began her work and spoke of her corgis and cattle, which immediately piqued my son’s interest. He loves dogs and cows.
We spent the day there receiving IV fluids; she popped in frequently, asking if we needed anything else. She is an absolutely amazing nurse. We wanted to be sure that she was recognized for all her amazing qualities that she possesses. She is so gentle and kind; the ER sure has a treasure in her as a nurse!
