Nurse Libby is an exceptional individual who truly epitomizes the full intent of the DAISY Award. She demonstrated the highest standard of professional conduct when returning to her morning shift duties and heard my call for assistance. What I remember of the episode, I was feeling faint, sweating and could not breathe; she immediately without delay called for assistance and stayed with me during my suffering.
In addition, she wanted to know what was going on with her patient, indicating that I was alright when she departed. Nurse Libby remained until my vitals were normal. To me, this illustrated compassion, true integrity, and personal commitment to her profession. It is my opinion that if Nurse Libby was not reporting to work at that very moment, I would not be here today.
Nurse Libby's quality of work reflects elevated professional standards that all should imitate. Her untiring efforts, devotion and loyalty reflect great credit upon herself and Palmetto Health Baptist Hospital.
