Lidia spent half the night printing pictures and making a photo album with all the history of her last 5 years receiving treatment.
Lidia from Ambulatory has been a part of JDCH since 2003 and is one of the first pediatric dialysis nurses. Lidia has a heart of gold and always goes above and beyond for her patients and their families. She spends her time sewing things for them, making individual birthday cards, decorating their rooms with their favorite cartoons or artists, and capturing unforgettable photos. One of our dialysis patients received a kidney transplant after she was on hemodialysis for 5 years. At first, things did not look good for her as she had to come back shortly for a biopsy and short hemodialysis treatment on her birthday. Upon learning this, Lidia arranged for her room to be decorated. She spent half the night printing pictures and making a photo album with all the history of her last 5 years receiving treatment. Lidia came in early to ensure the decorations and celebration were perfect. When the patient and her dad came in, they both had tears of joy and expressed their gratitude and appreciation for the entire staff especially after receiving the album of photos. Today, the patient is doing well and enjoying her life but let us know that she will never forget the support and love they received from their dialysis nurse.
